CA Virtual Campus

Information Design has always had its place in Education in the many forms of learning materials – such as textbooks, handouts, visual aids, and more. Most educational institutions have relied heavily on libraries for information and research. In today’s digital environment, libraries, learning materials, and classes, are available online.

Online education has opened many possibilities to reach out to students that may be unable to participate in on-campus classes, whether because of distance, time, or other constraints. Many working adults are able to continue their educations with the added flexibility of online education.

Many educational institutions, from community colleges to universities, offer a wide range of distance-learning options. Online courses can be as simple as email interaction between the instructor and students, or as elaborate as online modules that include dynamic content, video-conferencing, and web-based testing. Below are a few examples of online learning environments:

Blackboard & WebCT
  1. Blackboard & WebCT - Learning Management Systems.
  2. California Virtual Campus - All online courses at CA colleges and universities.
  3. Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training: These online modules offer training to professionals such as clergy, child care workers, and counselors.
  4. Classroom Management: This module-based online course is offered by the California Institute on Human Services. Each module presents a pre-test, a lesson, and a review with questions and answers.
  5. Tech Equity Workshops & Training: These modules help science, math and technology teachers create lesson plans.
